Dr. McGowan was a board certified dermatologist. He attended the Medical University of South Carolina, where he completed his residency in Dermatology. Dr. McGowan received numerous scholarships for his academic achievements. He received the Resident Recognition Award at the 10th Annual Caribbean Dermatology Symposium.
Dr. McGowan splits his practice time between Charleston, South Carolina as a Mohs surgeon with Germain Dermatology and Dayton Skin Surgery Center.
Dr. McGowan has authored numerous articles and has lectured at many national professional meetings on skin cancer and reconstructive techniques.
He actively volunteers in community events. His many interests include piano and music composition.
