Dr. Surprenant received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Ethics at the University of Notre Dame before attending medical school at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. After graduation, Dr. Surprenant completed his required internship at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He then returned to Chicago for his dermatology training at Loyola University Medical Center, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Surprenant is the author of numerous academic publications and is a frequent presenter at national meetings. He is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, serving in several leadership roles. Dr. Surprenant is also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, and the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Surprenant enjoys spending time with his wife, Eileen, and three children: Molly, Callan, & John.
